The second-hand marketplace Members Share Displeasure About Size Changes
Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The popular resale platform has revised its size classifications for women's and children's garments but did not contact every member regarding the update.
Digital Channels Backlash
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.
Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms.
They have suggested members to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated.
Size Classification Updates
Before the change, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
A different member, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said.
Necessary Adjustments
Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she said.
Marketplace Information
The app has more than 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.
It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
